In my art, my passion is to create something that speaks to the quiet spaces in the hearts of those who view it.
My goal is to be able to provoke thought in the truth that resonates to where you are at that moment in time. I always start my process from Spirit led inspiration with ideas that births from my heart in what I see or hear and I move that idea to my journal and then to the canvas. As I create I love listening to worship music and sometimes the quietness of the old mill building is just what I need. I hear the whispering of the Holy Spirit that brings life in me to the canvas. I pray over it and I release the process to the one that creates. My life’s creative process for me is a worship experience. This connection with my Creator is where I learn about myself and truths of who God is and the hope is that through this act of worship, my art can speak into someone else experiences and be life giving to them.
"My creativity is worship for me, it’s a partnership with God and His purpose in my life - though my art is not the purpose, the purpose is who God created me to be and the gifts he is giving me and through that I am created to bring forth God in me to the world, to bring it out and up and to walk and show the truth of who Jesus is."
I continue to learn my art is a metaphor for life, it’s about starting something and pushing through those uncomfortable moments, rising up with it and the most amazing feeling of conquering the doubt the fear and creating with The Creator and finishing it and letting it go. Knowing that I’m enough and that I can make mistakes and in those mistakes they can teach me things and I can push through and create something beautiful. I hold these moments dear to my spirit and the way I feel and move and through that connection I grow in my relationship with God.
